Kippford is often referred to as a hidden gem or Scotland’s Riviera Coast. It combines beautiful seaside scenes with some old-world charm.
On most historical maps, Kippford is listed as Scaur, which was the original title. Scaur is a Scottish word that refers to a steep cliff or bank.
Looking after the interests of the village
Kippford Association
The Kippford Association exists to represent the Villagers and look after the interests of the village. This includes managing the village hall, providing recreational facilities and organising cultural and social activities. Everyone who is a resident of Kippford is automatically deemed a member of the Association, which is run by a committee of local residents. We rely on fundraising events and the generosity of the Kippford residents.
