For those of you who have yet to check out what we’ve been doing in the bottom field of the nature reserve, here’s a bird’s eye view.

Towards the top right of the image is the pedestrian access from the road, at the 30mph sign.

There are two separate, but linked routes - a 1.8 metres wide path around the lower section, passing by the pond, and a 1.2 metre wide path taking a higher route up to a nice view point beside the old Scots Pine.

The lower path follows a relatively flat route and should, when finished, be suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

The contractors, Dempsters, are currently installing some benches adjacent to the paths and are creating a lower access point which will be more convenient for visitors coming up from the village. All going well, work should be pretty much completed by the end of August.
