We are making good progress preparing the planting sites ready for the arrival of the trees, but there is still lots to do.

The first delivery of some 50 trees will be here next week, probably Wednesday. The bigger quantities of trees will not be coming until sometime in November, depending on the weather.

It’s already apparent that we will be needing more chipped bark. Fortunately, the Dalbeattie sawmill (BSW Timber) has come to our rescue, agreeing to provide us with two more loads free of charge.

With the World Cup rugby matches being played on Saturdays and Sundays, we have decided, for the next two weeks, at least, that we will work only Monday to Friday, 9.00 to 11.00 am., weather permitting.

Anyone who would like to come along and help, or just have a look, is very welcome.

For those arborists amongst you, here is the final planting scheme along with the list of trees and shrubs we will be planting.
