MAKING ANNUAL KIPPFORD ASSOCIATION CONTRIBUTIONS
Did you know that you can make annual contributions to your Kippford Association through a Standing Order from your bank? If you are getting forgetful, like me, this is an easy way to help pay for the upkeep of the Village Hall and it's surrounding area (including the car park) bus shelter and the Wee Pier. Whilst your Committee's funds are healthy, there are future improvements that will require to be carried out.
Anyone wishing to pay through Standing Order can request their bank to pay an annual sum to:
The Kippford Association
Sort code: 83-17-24
Account number: 00162955
Don't forget to add your name!
You can use the same details if you wish to make a one off payment via your online banking.
KIPPFORD VILLAGE WEATHER FORECASTS
Our new Hall Manager, David Jamieson, has a weather forecasting web site based on local data. The site provides not only, temperature, wind speed, rainfall, but also yesterday's and tomorrow's forecast together with accompanying graphs.
This is a superb site which can be viewed at http://kippfordweather.uk/ Just click on this link.
KIPPFORD - ONE OF THE WORST VILLAGES
Did you know that Kippford does not have a very good reputation for House Name provision? It is very important that your house name is prominently displayed at, or very near to, your property's access gate. Having a small name plate hidden on the side of your property's wall is not much help to First Responders and Ambulance Service in finding your house at night. Be proud of your house name and place a large name plate on your access gates. Remember - every second counts in a medical emergency. (It also speeds up delivery of parcels.)
ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IMPROVEMENTS
SPEnergy will be upgrading the electricity power supply infrastructure to most of the houses in Kippford this year. SPEnergy will have a 'Drop In' for residents, to view plans and get questions answered regarding power supply to your property, on Wednesday 19th April at the Village Hall. The 'Drop in' will be open from 2 - 7pm. Come along to get information on work dates and possible short-term power cuts (will be kept to absolute minimum, but changing wires will need some interuption).
KIPPFORD OIL CLUB
Did you know that you can get substantial savings on your central heating oil by joining the Oil Club?
To join, go to www.oil-club.co.uk. Make sure you affiliate your address with Kippford village. You order and pay online; minimum order is 500 litres. The more residents joining, the cheaper the oil will be.
If you do not wish to join the club, a resident has found that if he joins with other nearby residents, he can negotiate a reduced cost per litre with local oil distributors.
